Insurance:
Dietary Counseling - I am a Preferred Provider as a Dietitian with Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Aetna Health Insurance. I will bill BC/BS and Aetna for dietary counseling. You are responsible for a co-pay plus nutritional supplements. In some cases (i.e. HMO) you will need a referral from your PCP.
Acupuncture - I am a Preferred Provider with Aetna Health Insurance and will bill Aetna for acupuncture sessions. You are responsible for the co-pay.
Automobile and workman’s compensation - I will provide you with an itemized acupuncture bill that you submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
Other Plans - Some plans of United Healthcare, Commonwealth Indemnity, and labor union plans cover dietary counseling and/or acupuncture. Please check with your plan. In some cases I may bill insurance for you (i.e. Commonwealth Indemnity) and you will only be responsible for the co-pay. But others (i.e United) you are required to pay the full amount and then I will provide you with a superbill that you can submit for reimbursement. (Patients tell me that they do get reimbursed!)
